U. S. CONSULATE GENERAL, KARACHI is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of SECURITY INVESTIGATOR. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Completion of bachelor's degree (fourteen years) of education in the field of science, arts or in commerce is required. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in investigative work with a military, police, or private security organization and three years of supervisory experience is required. Must have knowledge of documentary sources of information and familiarity with national laws to include marriage, divorce, adoption, military service customs, traffic, invasion of privacy, diplomatic customs and crimes. Must be able to gain working knowledge of the Foreign Affairs Manual pertaining to security and the Bureau of Diplomatic Security's instructions and procedures. Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques of investigation. An understanding of host country security and law enforcement organizations is required. Applicant must have extensive knowledge of local customs and culture. Must have ability to distinguish between conclusions and facts and to report facts accurately in a concise, logical, and objective manner. Must be computer literate and show standard proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Suite applications. Must have the ability to use current technology incorporated by the Office, to include Satellite phones, Google maps and plotting using KMZ files and mapping techniques, Iridium radio, and handheld radios, desk top computers, laptop, Android phones, Xerox, Fax, Digital Sender, two-way radio, GPS, Satellite Phone, THOR biometric enrollment system, cellular phones. Must demonstrate the capacity to learn new technologies as they emerge. Incumbent must have a valid Pakistani motor car/jeep license. Driving skills may be tested.
